If you weren’t deafened by the sounds of jaws dropping last week when Eliot Spitzer also know as the white knight, Mr. Clean, and the sheriff and now just knows as Client #9, you probably don’t want to hear anymore of the good gone bad. I won’t be irksome and mention it again but beyond the hypocrisy of the Governor, the 4000 dollars he paid Ashley Alexandra Dupre’, aka Kirsten, who is now making a killing on her MySpace with millions of hits on her and her songs, is mind numbing. When something breaks in the news like that it makes you nostalgic for all the other sex scandals we have had the pleasure of watching. Of course, there was the Governor of New Jersey, McGreevey who was yanked out of his closet, Mcgreeveysuck.com, and now is in a seminary studying to become an Episcopal Priest, now that’s what I call penance or advantage of the situation, depending how you look at it. Then there was Senator Larry Craig who was caught groping an officer of the law under a bathroom stall but still holds steadfast that he is not guilty even though he said he was and is now using the I-thought-I-was-wiping-myself defense. And of course there is the weasel who picked up pages who were minors as he sat on the committee against child abuse, I won’t mention his name because my hair my start on fire. So what as a population are we to do about the sexual peccadilloes our leaders seem to be so easily distracted by? Here’s my idea: all people running for office have to go on the Fox TV Reality Show, The Moment of Truth, fox.com/momentoftruth/ and they have to answer questions from friends, family and constituents if they pass without lying they can run for office if they lose they have to go to Guantanamo to clean toilets.
